We are excited to announce the CMTWC WRITERS ROOM, a place for advanced writers to present their works-in-progress, and receive feedback from their peers and a special guest moderator.
The CMTWC Writers Room will take place at Randolph Academy for the Performing Arts (736 Bathurst St, Toronto, ON).
The following dates are available:
Monday, January 23 (7:30-9:30pm)
Monday, March 20 (7:30-9:30pm)
Monday, May 15 (7:30-9:30pm)
Participants sign up for a 20-minute slot. The fee for each writer or writing team is $20 (fee covers room costs and stipend for the moderator).
If you would like to participate in the Writers Room, please sign up for a slot by sending an email to writersroom@cmtwc.com. In your email, include your name, the title of the project you’re working on, the date you’d like to participate, and any other specifics (e.g., need an early slot due to performer availability, etc.).
What do we mean by “advanced writers”? We’re using the term as a catch-all phrase for writers who have already completed a musical theatre writing program, such as the CMTWC Writers Workshop, Theatre 20’s Composium, the BMI Lehman Engel Musical Theatre Workshop, NYU’s Graduate Musical Theatre Writing Program, etc.
If you haven’t completed one of the above programs, don’t worry! You’re welcome to audit. The fee to audit is $5 and you must sign up in advance by sending an email to writersroom@cmtwc.com with your name and date you’d like to attend. Want to participate, not just audit?
